Structuring Your Opinion

When you engage in debate, you need to define your opinion so that you can clearly make your argument presentable. 

You can follow these steps to help guide you:

1)  Making your opinion

•  State your opinion by catergorizing it as, value, policy or fact 

2)  Explain your opinion

•  Give reasons by making comparisons, showing contrast or a cause-and-effect relationship

3)  Support your opinion

•   Use evidence from statistics, expert opinion, an example or explanation
